The Team
This project was undertaken by three engineering students at Massey University as a part of a third-year CAD paper. They modelled the aircraft in Solidworks with the aim of advancing their Solidworks proficiency.
The Plane
The Stolp V-Star is a small acrobatic biplane designed to be easily built and inexpensive to run. Weighing in at approximately 450 kilograms, the V-Star is able to be hand built in a modest workshop from the thirty-five page set of plans which was drafted by hand in 1972.
This project group originally set out to find an attractive aircraft to model, and Stolp's Starduster is exactly that.
The project was undertaken August - November 2006
